Which is better – blacktop paving or concrete?

Here in the Buffalo, NY and Cheektowaga, NY area, we have to say that blacktop paving is better. The primary reason is the climate. Blacktop stands up better to cold weather than concrete does, and since it heats up in the sun, it can make shoveling snow a little easier. Blacktop is also cheaper to install and easier to repair and maintain.

What’s the best way to make sure my new blacktop paving lasts?

  1. When the asphalt is first poured, keep people, vehicles, and pets off it for at least the first 24 hours. If it would be wiser to stay off it for a longer period of time, we’ll tell you.
